SIM nano-SIM + eSIM

Each SIM version is a separate device with its own price and stock. Switching keeps your condition, storage and colour when that version has them.

SIM versions

The SIM version decides which SIM cards an iPhone takes and how you set up your number. Here is what iPhone 15 Plus on this page takes.

The version on this page

nano-SIM and eSIM

Takes your SIM card in a tray on the side and supports eSIM too, so you can use two numbers at once.

  • Use the SIM card you have now
  • Add an eSIM for a second number
  • Two eSIMs can be active at the same time

SIM types explained

nano-SIM
The SIM card from your carrier. It goes into a small tray on the side of the iPhone.
eSIM
A digital SIM. Your carrier activates it on the iPhone, with no card to insert or lose. An iPhone can keep eight or more eSIMs.
Dual SIM
Two numbers on one iPhone, for example personal and work: a SIM card with an eSIM, or two eSIMs on iPhone 13 and later.
Two nano-SIM cards
Versions made for mainland China, and on older models for Hong Kong and Macao too, with a tray for two SIM cards.

eSIM in the UAE

e&, du and Virgin Mobile UAE offer eSIM, and you can move your current number from a SIM card to an eSIM in their apps.

Each carrier sets its own steps and fees, so check in your carrier's app before you switch.

Check which version a phone is

On the iPhone, open Settings, then General, then About. Tap the number next to Model Number until it starts with A, then find it in the list above. An iPhone without a SIM tray is eSIM only.

    Description

iPhone 15 Plus is built around a 6.7-inch screen for films, reading and maps, with the A16 Bionic chip, the Dynamic Island and a 48MP Main camera. Our inspection covers more than 80 checks on each one, and a 12-month 3ASH warranty comes with it.

    Why choose iPhone 15 Plus?

    • A 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display with the Dynamic Island.
    • The 48MP Main camera, which also gives 12MP photos at 2x.
    • USB-C, MagSafe wireless charging and 5G in an aluminium design.
    • Face ID and support for iOS 27.

    How it compares

Next to iPhone 14 Plus, it gains the Dynamic Island, moves to a 48MP Main camera and switches to USB-C. iPhone 16 Plus is the step up if you want Camera Control, the Action button and the A18 chip with Apple Intelligence.

    Our advice

If your phone lives in a case, a Very Good or Good grade is a sensible way to spend less, since the grade describes how the phone looks, not how it works. If you download films and series for flights, choose 256GB rather than 128GB.
