SIM Dual nano-SIM

Each SIM version is a separate device with its own price and stock. Switching keeps your condition, storage and colour when that version has them.

SIM versions

The SIM version decides which SIM cards an iPhone takes and how you set up your number. Here is what iPhone 14 on this page takes.

The version on this page

Two nano-SIM cards

Takes two SIM cards in one tray, so you can use two numbers at once. It does not support eSIM.

  • Two SIM cards at the same time
  • eSIM is not supported

SIM types explained

nano-SIM
The SIM card from your carrier. It goes into a small tray on the side of the iPhone.
eSIM
A digital SIM. Your carrier activates it on the iPhone, with no card to insert or lose. An iPhone can keep eight or more eSIMs.
Dual SIM
Two numbers on one iPhone, for example personal and work: a SIM card with an eSIM, or two eSIMs on iPhone 13 and later.
Two nano-SIM cards
Versions made for mainland China, and on older models for Hong Kong and Macao too, with a tray for two SIM cards.

eSIM in the UAE

e&, du and Virgin Mobile UAE offer eSIM, and you can move your current number from a SIM card to an eSIM in their apps.

Each carrier sets its own steps and fees, so check in your carrier's app before you switch.

Check which version a phone is

On the iPhone, open Settings, then General, then About. Tap the number next to Model Number until it starts with A, then find it in the list above. An iPhone without a SIM tray is eSIM only.

    Description

iPhone 14 adds Crash Detection to a 6.1-inch everyday iPhone: if it detects a severe car crash, it can help connect you to emergency services. Action mode keeps video steady on the move, Cinematic mode reaches 4K HDR, and the A15 Bionic chip, 5G and MagSafe complete it. Each iPhone 14 goes through more than 80 checks, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS among them, and a 12-month 3ASH warranty backs it.

    Why choose iPhone 14?

    • Crash Detection, turned on by default.
    • Action mode video up to 2.8K at 60 fps.
    • Cinematic mode up to 4K HDR at 30 fps.
    • A 12MP front camera with autofocus, and Face ID.

    How it compares

On top of what iPhone 13 offers, iPhone 14 adds Crash Detection, Action mode, and Cinematic mode at up to 4K HDR. If you want the Dynamic Island, a 48MP Main camera or a USB-C connector, iPhone 15 has them.

    Our advice

If you drive every day, or you are buying for a new driver in the family, Crash Detection tips the choice towards iPhone 14 rather than iPhone 13. Choose 256GB if you will use Action mode and 4K Cinematic video often, so your clips have room. iPhone 14 Plus has the same features on a 6.7-inch screen.
