SIM eSIM only

Each SIM version is a separate device with its own price and stock. Switching keeps your condition, storage and colour when that version has them.

SIM versions

The SIM version decides which SIM cards an iPhone takes and how you set up your number. Here is what iPhone 14 Pro Max on this page takes.

The version on this page

eSIM only

Has no SIM tray. Your carrier sets up your number as an eSIM on the iPhone, with no card to insert.

  • There is no SIM tray: your carrier gives you an eSIM instead of a card
  • e&, du and Virgin Mobile UAE offer eSIM
  • Two eSIMs can be active at the same time

SIM types explained

nano-SIM
The SIM card from your carrier. It goes into a small tray on the side of the iPhone.
eSIM
A digital SIM. Your carrier activates it on the iPhone, with no card to insert or lose. An iPhone can keep eight or more eSIMs.
Dual SIM
Two numbers on one iPhone, for example personal and work: a SIM card with an eSIM, or two eSIMs on iPhone 13 and later.
Two nano-SIM cards
Versions made for mainland China, and on older models for Hong Kong and Macao too, with a tray for two SIM cards.

eSIM in the UAE

e&, du and Virgin Mobile UAE offer eSIM, and you can move your current number from a SIM card to an eSIM in their apps.

Each carrier sets its own steps and fees, so check in your carrier's app before you switch.

Check which version a phone is

On the iPhone, open Settings, then General, then About. Tap the number next to Model Number until it starts with A, then find it in the list above. An iPhone without a SIM tray is eSIM only.

    Description

iPhone 14 Pro Max brings the Dynamic Island, a 48MP Main camera and a 3x Telephoto camera to a 6.7-inch Always-On display with ProMotion. It suits people who use one phone for photos, video and work, with storage up to 1TB. From its cameras to its speakers and microphones, it goes through more than 80 checks before we list it, and a 12-month 3ASH warranty is part of the price.

Why choose iPhone 14 Pro Max?

    • An Always-On display that keeps the time, widgets and Live Activities in view at a glance.
    • The Dynamic Island and the A16 Bionic chip.
    • A 48MP Main camera, a 3x Telephoto and a LiDAR Scanner.
    • Storage up to 1TB, plus 5G and MagSafe.

    How it compares

Its Main camera went from 12MP on iPhone 13 Pro Max to 48MP here, and the Dynamic Island and the Always-On display are new to this generation. iPhone 15 Pro Max goes further with a 5x Telephoto camera, a titanium design and USB-C with USB 3 up to 10Gb/s.

    Our advice

If this will be the phone you shoot everything with, photos and video will fill storage quickly. Pick 512GB if you film often, or 1TB if you keep years of video on the phone. If you are selling your current phone to fund this one, our sister business 3ash.ae buys devices.
