Is a used iPhone worth buying?

Will a used iPhone run the latest iOS?

How much performance do you need?

The chips across our pre-owned range run from the A13 Bionic in iPhone 11 to the A19 Pro in iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. For calls, messages, banking apps, social media, maps and photos, a model from an earlier series serves you well. If you edit video, play demanding games or plan to keep the phone for many years, a newer chip gives you more room to grow.

For Apple Intelligence, Apple lists iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and every iPhone 16 model and later, in the languages it supports. If those features matter to you, start your search there.

How does the condition grade save you money?

Every device we sell works fully, whatever its grade. The grade describes looks only, and the price changes with it:

• Excellent: looks close to new, with very fine marks visible only up close. The screen has no visible scratches, and the lenses are intact, with no scratches.
• Very Good: light signs of use on the body or screen that do not affect use. Light scratches may show when the screen is off.
• Good: visible signs of use on the body, with full performance. The screen is intact and may show light scratches.

Is a used iPhone a better choice for the environment?

Apple's environmental report for iPhone 16 shows that most of the phone's life-cycle carbon emissions come from production, far more than from three years of charging it. Apple also explains that the longer products stay in use, the fewer new resources have to be taken from the earth to replace them.
